Before y'all clown react me into oblivion... I know how spectrum is, this is just an honest take from my experience in playing the game. Star Citizen is wonderfully complex when it comes to vehicles, everyone and their mom of course has something they own and want to fly, let alone a two-seater hornet or a 60+ crew Odin (lmao). The issue comes down to the simple fact that, yes- it is pretty easy to get a second dude in your co-pilot seat of a hornet, at least within reason. But the reality is- The Second Dude is better off getting his own hornet to fly around with you. In your hornet, he has perhaps access to missiles and the turret up top. In his own hornet- he has access to- well his own hornet. Let's think bigger. You have an Idris, I can't recall how many 'remote' or manned turrets it has off the top of my head, but I know it's a lot, and trying to commonly get enough red-shirts to crew your Idris' Turrets, despite most of them not really going to have much use in a fight just because of turret convergences and range- well it's going to be a hassle. Coming from the game Foxhole? Where you can get a battleship in that came that has about 20 people inside of it crewing the guns, repairing, loading shells etc. It WORKS but it barely works, it's a pain in the ass to organize and the biggest thing? Foxhole servers cannot handle a full fleet of ships without people queuing for hours to get into a server. Yes, and I know there will be people who will say 'Okay but Dynamic Server Meshing' Yes that's great- but we also thought Static Server Meshing would solve all our problems but it didn't. We know the servers can handle turrets being controlled by AI. So why not just allow it? And before any of you go 'Oh you just want to solo your fancy ship!' Man. I own a Liberator, F7A, Legionnare and a Spartan.
