Honestly, I can't believe you STILL have to be told this, but there are literally thousands of better and more effective ways to balance ships than by illogically gimping turrets to make multiplayer turret play unnecessarily frustrating and unfun. We're honestly supposed to believe that Anvil designers saw those turrets and said, "You know...that coverage is too good...we better move the guns WAY the F*** over here so they're irritating as hell to use and no actual human will want to do it." The "balance" argument is BS, because you can EASILY place turrets in logical, reasonable and ACTUALLY FUN TO USE positions and THEN adjust ship performance and stats accordingly.
