Hello Star Citizen community, I hoped I’d never have to post something like this, but for me, the situation has become serious — and honestly, it has been for a while. Quick note on language First, apologies for my English — it’s not my native language. I’m doing my best with the help of translation tools and AI to express myself clearly. About me I'm Zvonimir, a backer since 2016 with nearly $15,000 invested, and a former content creator with over 9,500 hours of Star Citizen streamed. This game has been a huge part of my life for years. When I pledged, there were only a few dozen ships, optional subscriptions, and even UEC-purchasable items (which were later removed and refunded). It was a unique funding model — and one we accepted because we believed in the dream. But today, it feels like something important is being lost. What concerns me We’re seeing more and more signs of: Power creep Pay-to-win tendencies FOMO-driven monetization Some recent examples: The Hornet Mk II completely outclasses the Mk I — and it costs significantly more. The Paladin seems to have replaced the Redeemer. An Idris upgrade kit is being sold while Polaris torpedoes have barely worked for months, and the ship's interior launched unfinished (though future updates were promised). The Guardian QI’s Quantum Dampener is unreliable, yet the Guardian MX is basically a buffed-up version of the standard one. Older ships and gear are constantly being pushed aside by more powerful, newer versions. And when they aren't, they sometimes feel like recycled designs lacking uniqueness. What might come next? More Mk II ships (CIG mentioned this possibility at Bar Citizen China). More AI Blades — as hinted in the latest Q&A. More exclusive FPS gear, locked behind time-limited Warbond bundles. More independent components like the Scorpius turret or Nova cannon. In the future: blueprints, new ship weapons, building components, maybe even early access to star systems? We’re already seeing players pay extra to access events or content 2–3 days early. Where does it stop? Why I’m writing this I’m not here to complain — I’m here because I care. I’ve supported this project for nearly a decade. I remember when we were told that Star Citizen would not become pay-to-win. That it would be fair, player-focused, and built for the long term. This post may not change anything. It might be locked, ignored, or moderated. But I couldn’t stay silent. We, the community, still have a voice — and it matters. Use it. Final words I wish you all a great Invictus. Star Citizen is still an incredible and ambitious project. Let’s make sure it stays on the right path — together. Fly safe, Zvonimir
