I am a long time heavy backer who tries the game now and then to see progress. There was high hopes for 2.23 and here are my observations. 1 - There are a lot of new missions but they are difficult to complete due to horrible performance. 2 - Ships can still randomly explode due to what I believe is lousy synchronization between my PC and the game servers. 3 - The item interface is very clunky and bad. For example, you look at a water bottle, take your helmet off, inspect the water bottle, look at the bottle again and right click to drink it. It is just dumb. 4 - Persistence makes no sense as water bottles get thrown on the ground and trash is scattered everywhere. Basic game design would prevent this clutter to save load on the servers. 5 - There is rampant cheating in the game as people duplicate stuff to gather money. Someone in global chat said it was done to sell to people for cash. 6 - Random invisible walls show up. For example, I landed on what I thought was a landing pad, exited the ship and could not move far before hitting and invisible wall. Then I could not get back in the ship because the ramp shifted and was too high to jump up. 7 - I encountered several sticky spots. Like places with a lot of rocks where you can fall in a hole and not be able to get out. This includes falling through buildings. 8 - There were not any servers I could find with higher then 7 FPS. Once there was one over 10 but after entering a ship, the FPS went down to 4. 9 - Turning all graphic settings to minimum had no impact on performance. I think this proves that all of the issues are on the game server side. 10 - Bunker missions were not playable. Either I could run by the bad guys and hear them shooting at me 10 seconds after I passed them or FPS dropped so bad you would just die. I think RSI can do better by their customers and fix these issues. Who cares about Pyro, new ships or anything else when the core experience is so bad? In my opinion the new patch just added more stuff that does not work and we deserve better.
