This is a difficult post to write because I genuinely want to keep loving this game. I barely visit the website anymore and the excitement I used to feel is gone. It isn’t one single issue. It’s the bugs, the amount of time it takes to get started and actually do something, and the lack of meaningful content once you finally get there. Too often I feel like I spend time trying to reach the fun than actually having fun. What disappoints me most is that the world doesn’t feel truly lived in. I want to feel as though I’m somewhere that exists beyond whatever activity I happen to be doing, a place with its own life, routines, conflicts, commerce, and reasons to explore. The game contains plenty of beautiful locations, but most feel empty and interchangeable. Outside a handful of standout areas the content often feels copy-pasted with no environmental storytelling or detail to make each location feel genuinely inhabited. NPCs rarely seem to have meaningful routines or interactions and the lack of visible ship traffic is especially noticeable. In a supposedly enormous corporate capital, the skies and streets should be full of commuters, cargo vessels, patrols, service workers, vendors, and incidental activity (like in every hype video from CiG). Instead, arriving in many areas feels less like entering a major population centre and more like landing in a remote Alaskan village. The scale is there visually, but not functionally. A large city or corporate hub should communicate its importance through density, movement, noise, commerce, and social activity not just impressive architecture. Honestly I think the game would benefit from having fewer locations with substantially more depth. Give each area a distinct identity, useful NPCs, local conflicts, dynamic events, traffic and reasons to return. A smaller number of genuinely alive places would be far more memorable than a huge map filled with beautiful but lifeless spaces. I’ve also noticed that the constant hype no longer has any effect on me. Might glance at a youtube thumbnail or check the website for a few seconds each week but I no longer feel any urge to play. I used to follow every update, look forward to upcoming features and play each new patch as soon as it released. I haven’t even updated the last two patches. Techniques that may once have generated excitement now feel repetitive and transparent. I’m not posting this to attack anyone who still enjoys the game. I honestly wish I still felt that excitement. But at the moment, the game feels more like a beautiful collection of promises than a place I want to spend time in. Has anyone else reached this point?
