I'm not necessarily against the new way power management is supposed to work vs the old way (bindings and tuning mid-combat). However, power management is so fundamental to the constant operation of ships, I'm astonished CIG decided to ship it in this state and leave it as-is since 3.24.(or was it 3.23??). How on earth did a dev implement this, and just walk away assuming it would be ok? Did nobody try to pilot a ship after deploying this change? It resets every time I power down, it resets every time I toggle between QT and SCM / Combat modes. At the worst possible moment, enemy ships are shooting at me, I have to dive back into an MFD because it removes power to weapons, or engines, or shields. EVERY TIME. Anyone who tested this for more than 5 mins would have immediately noticed it's completely unplayable. I'm very sorry, but this kind of dev culture can't survive in 2025 at CIG. How many times have devs stepped over this dead body since it's been pushed live last year?? Either revert it back to the old power system and fix it on a non-live branch, or scramble to treat this as a game breaking bug ASAP. There's a difference between pushing out incremental things that aren't fully finished versus pushing out broken things that basically make the game intolerable, then pretend it's "intentional" and label the fix as a "feature" to end up on a roadmap in some release months away.. No.
