So the new SCL just came out, and while I am grateful that my two questions were picked. (thank you!) The answers worry me a bit because it sure sounds like the devs are not aware of player feedback. For example, When I asked about Mining being tedious, I was not referring to the actual mining gameplay loop itself (which I like very much; it's one of the most fleshed-out industrial professions in game.) (That said, in their defense, Jared didn't bother reading the full question to give the entire context.) I was referring to the fact that we are mining LESS now and spending more time flying around and painfully scanning rocks for hours just to find that ONE decent rock. We're not mining anymore. We're mostly scouting for rocks. A feeling that I think many have shared. The irony is that we had this problem before when we had the quantanium mining meta. Which was eventually mitigated so that we could spend more time mining instead of scouting for rocks. The new changes have brought us back to that era of spending entire playing sessions just scouting for rocks. We never said that the mining gameplay loop is boring. We are complaining that the mining profession now is 90% scouting and 10% mining. Which just doesn't feel good. This is something that was shared extensively in feedback. So it is surprising to me that the answer to that question completely deflected the actual complaint. It's really not an encouraging sign when the devs who are supposed to take our feedback do not seem to be aware of what a lot of players (who actually like mining) are complaining about. We love mining. But we want to mine. Not scout (that's what the exploration profession is about.)
