Expect the jump point to be camped. If they are not in your party or org, shoot first. Rust in space is here. If you have allies, have them scan your ship regularly for stow away players. Especially after a landing and takeoff. Never trust anyone you haven't played with for at least 2 or more sessions. Stock up on Max Lift tractors, you can't do anything worthwhile without them. If you are not in a meta ship (e.g. interceptor, whatever the flavor of the month is), run from PvP combat. If you are mantis snared, self-destruct, abandon ship, then menu log from space EVA to get station ported. This is the fastest way to avoid and recover from forced encounters. If they took the time to organize and snare you, 99% of the time your not winning that encounter. If you a solo, assume your ship is forfeit the second you step off of it anywhere outside of a Pyro station hangar. Unless your practiced, don't PvP -especially in Stanton. The PvP lords will have better gear from Pyro because of the new item distribution rebalance. Unless you are one of them and have some level of organized/protected access to Pyro mission rewards, you won't have access to this gear (military, stealth, Pyro weapons) and will get crushed with stock gear. Welcome to Black Desert, where gear is exclusive to these players and is king. Forget ballistics. The the amount of back to back encounters and the importance of sustain, you can never afford to be in a situation where you are dry on weapons. Forget missiles and torpedoes. They never work, their operating costs are too high, and you can't restock flares without paying for their restock if you use them. The flares you need, especially against NPCs.
