The current reputation system is a disgusting time-sink, and wiping this progress without an implemented system to make it better is a choice you don't need to move ahead on. Right now, the "grind" is a barrier, not a gameplay loop. You’ve designed a system where the amount of work required is completely decoupled from the reward. We are spending hundreds, thousands of hours fighting a progress bar to notch us up to the next rank, and for what? It feels like foolishness to even engage when the payoff is a fat reset button, especially while other things that are actively exploited, remain. Reputation should be an organic reflection of a player’s journey, not a gate designed to artificially extend "playtime." You’re testing our patience, not the game, and slapping users in the face that have spent thousands of hours grinding the only thing that actually matters in the verse is flat-out shocking. I've played since the game was only JPEGs. I've played missions in every major X.0 patch. I've suffered the wipes every patch. I also know that grinding rep didn't take HUNDREDS of hours like it does now. One set of missions to get to the next set of missions, the next monetary class, the next 'fun', are a slog. It's painful. It's annoying. It's not fun. +10 rep 'oh I reached revered' is a 2004-era World of Warcraft limitations-of-the-era nothingburger. Can we not get beyond this? We want to see progress that actually matters (and no, not a 'storyline' main mission like what has been proposed at Citizencons of the past). But moreso, if you don't have these fixes to make the reputation system better, don't wipe it. You are about to force the community back to square one to repeat a process that is a dog's breakfast. Cancel the reputation wipe. Focus on fixing the scaling of the grind so it feels like actual progression instead of a second job. Stop the cycle of "re-grinding" placeholder content. Listen to the feedback. Edit: "We're looking at [...] targeted correction to those areas that are problematic and preserve as much of the gotten gains of Star Citizens as possible." -Benoit (Enhanced by Jared) (See video.) So my question becomes: What makes reputation problematic in this patch to the point that something as basic as these gates to content need to be wiped?
