Fellow Citizens, 1.0 is years off. There's ZERO wrong with that. That doesn't mean I want to be hyped up about it at CitizenCon when the released 1.0 most likely won't match whatever longform, pre-rendered video CIG is cooking up about it at CitizenCon this year. That's the only reason that seems feasible to me for why they're talking about it all of a sudden this year. I say this because I remember the Lorville video with those little crab animals. We still don't have those and we have a totally different Lorville before those little guys ever even made it to the game. That was like 2017 when CIG showed that off. The talk about 1.0 shouldn't happen until SQ42 is out and we're no longer on the "Road to 4.0". I don't want to see long term future prognostications about 1.0 at CitizenCon. Once we're all happily traveling through wormholes from Pyro to Stanton and vice versa, I'll happily watch a pre-rendered look at what Chris wants 1.0 to be. Not before 4.0 though. CitizenCons the next few years should focus solely on what we're getting the following year. CIG have shown they don't do a great job at prognosticating their releases. There's no reason to show what's coming years after things we don't even have yet. We've been on "The Road to 4.0" for years now. I don't want hype about it anymore. It's past time for it to come out. Now I can understand if 2 months ago even, they were certain 4.0 was going to be ready this summer. Disco put his gamer hat on and proudly said it was. So it makes sense if they were celebrating early and moved on to the next big thing to tout at CitizenCon. It simply isn't the case now though and CIG should change tact. TL;DR There's no reason to show what's coming years after things we don't even have yet.
