Star Citizen is currently experiencing a carebear overpopulation and we need to do something about it. Every single PvPer who dares to kill another player is automatically labelled as a griefer and the chat turns into a salt mine. And instead of seeking training, these individuals head over to reddit to complain about toxic PKers and such. You will hear arguments that PvP is not part of any functional game loop, that it completely ruins other player's enjoyment, that it is poisoning the otherwise freindly community, or even that it is a sign of a severely disturbed person. Sure, dying is not fun. Especially in the final game where it will actually have consequences. But crying that the verse is cruel is not the solution. Especially not now - few months before the release of Pyro and salvaging. People won't be standing in a circle, holding hands and smiling at each other in these lawless systems. There are a lot of orgs that are purely PvP oriented and are training all day every day to learn the fastest way to kill you. There are many veteran combat sim pilots coming from DCS, ED, EVE and other games who are not interested in anything but dogfighting. And lastly, there are players who already own ships worth thousands of dollars who will get bored by the implemented game loops pretty soon. Especially if there is nothing worth farming the currency for. Long story short, PvP is getting more and more important to learn than you might think. And those ship weapons don't shoot hearts and kisses. I am by no means an experienced fighter pilot. I am frequently on the receiving end of the laser repeater barrage but I am incredibly grateful that someone took the time to test me. And instead of ragequitting and crying all over spectrum or reddit, I claim my ship and I try again. Only through failure you can improve. I prefer to die ten times today than once tomorrow. Don't avoid the conflict - seek it and learn from it. Getting shot at in the verse is not a result of griefing - it is a learning opportunity. And if you can't manage your frustration from losing a dogfight, you are about to have a very bad time very soon.
