So don't get me wrong I am all for having more fauna in the game I have no problem with the idea of space cows. However its a fucking cow. It's not some revolutionary feature that is going to change the way we play the game. When your development update is 10 minutes talking about cows and going into the regional accents of cows in England and we still don't have a functional economy you've lost the plot. This obsession with "realism" and hyper detailed bullshit (literally) is exactly what is holding back Star Citizen from being an actual game. CIG you're spending so much time and effort craving the bark on a single tree that you've completely forgotten the goal was to plant a forest. It is nonsense. This is why you're getting people like Morphalogist making videos about losing confidence. It's time to push Squadron 42 out the door and FINALLY start focusing on the big picture and doing the things that will turn Star Citizen from a tech demo of dozens of dispirit unconnected activities into an actual video game. EDIT: to be clear COWS are not the issue. The issue here is minutia. It is the prioritization of fine details that will not have a large impact on the overall experience or quality of actually playing the game. It is the focus on frivolous fluff and window dressing while simultaneously seeming to ignore much bigger issues and core features that were used to sell the vision of the game. If you're here to defend space cows you've missed the point.
