Personally, I am very excited for more multi-crew-oriented gameplay. I am wondering one thing though: Most people want to fly their own ships. Especially those that have them pledged. You have 6 friends and all have fairly large multi-crew ships. "Let's take my M2," says one. "Nah, I just bought a Carrack and I really want to fly it," says another. And so on... How are we going to incentivize leaving the ship you just paid $400+ behind to jump into someone else's ship to run around to be an engineer? We already struggle to get turrets filled, so how will this be any different? I'm totally fine being an engineer, and perhaps there are enough people like me to fill these roles, but for each ship the size of a Hercules and up, you need, what, 4+ people besides the owner of the ship? That means most people will be relegated to the engineer or turret gunner role. I am trying to be optimistic about multi-crew gameplay in the future, but to date, there have always been too many captains, not enough crew.
