Hi everyone, I wanted to raise this topic because UI readability keeps coming up in community feedback, and I think it deserves to be laid out with concrete examples rather than just a general impression. The Starmap Two main issues, in my view: No filters: there's no way to display only certain categories of information (stations, points of interest, routes, etc.), so everything ends up displayed at once. Overlapping text: labels overlap as soon as several elements are close together, making some areas hard to read. Excessive transparency: the very transparent background significantly reduces contrast with text and icons. You can clearly see the problem in these two images, it's completely unreadable, and it's even worse when the background behind it is white. I did a quick test (sorry, I used an AI... I'm terrible at design) just by increasing the opacity and grouping the points together, and I find it already a lot more readable. So my question is: is this a technical limitation, or is it an artistic choice to leave everything transparent? Should we expect the same kind of UI in Squadron 42, or have you gone in a different direction? Another example is the Mission app. It really feels like you can't even center text — here the "Battaglia" mission is centered using "********". There are no images either; the player is just left with plain text, and it's not very immersive. I also did a quick test on this one. Anyway, I don't know if the UI devs will actually respond, but feel free to share your opinion — am I the only one really bothered by this UI? I'm honestly worried Squadron 42 might launch with a Starmap just as hard to read... that'll be the first thing I open when I'm in Manchester in a few days :stuck_out_tongue:
