It seemed just a few short months ago, even though the last CitizenCon was further back than that, I was truly inspired by Chris Roberts' address to the community. Roberts gave me the Capt. Kirrahe vibe and I was ready to run up that hill and take another wallet hit to push the project over the hill. Yeah, I knew about the development of MM in the background, but it all seemed harmless. Surely a controlling, unintuitive, unrealistic, and arbitrary drag flight model wouldn't make the light of day. But it did and even after the requested feedback, the agents of this simulation we call Star Citizen took away player freedom and replaced it with restrictions, gates, and debilitating mediocrity. I understand the need to decrease combat ranges, but MM can't be the answer. CIG had a blueprint going with High Speed Combat changes that could have been expanded upon. I digress. While I am not a whale, as I ony have a starter, a medium ship, and a couple of paints, I have to say that I can't run up that hill due CIG being unable to feel the tone of the community. Perhaps because I already pledged or maybe because I am not a whale, I may not matter to CIG. I half expect to be indirectly joked about on some upcoming ISC, but this is where I am. I am unable to hold the line. I (and others) can't be considered a statistical anomaly, wanting to self regulate our own performance envelopes within different ship capabilities. MM's hard coercion makes that intractable. A few may wonder why I am still around. It is because I had a dream and played once was free flight combat. IF there may be a sliver of a chance CIG posts 'We heard you' to the community to bring that dream back into reality, I am here.
