Break out the sewing machines and pick up some EVA foam, it's cosplay time! :scissors: Even though the pandemic put a wrench in our CitizenCon plans this year, we're still able to celebrate our wonderful Star Citizen cosplay community in style with a (virtual) Cosplay Contest! So, how's this different from last year? Well, we're not going to be able to do the stage walk sadly! We'll be collecting pictures & videos of your cosplays like any other creative contest we've done, and will be judging them each individually. We'll then announce the winners here on Spectrum. Submit your creation to the Submission Thread HERE by October 31st, just in time for Halloween! You're welcome to include as many images & videos as necessary to best display your cosplay, but we do ask that you have at least one good "hero shot" photo so we can effectively show off your cosplay. Please also include a one to two sentence description of your cosplay. Our lovely panel of CIG Judges are looking forward to seeing what beautiful pieces of the 'verse you bring to life. Just so you know, we fully plan on having a live Cosplay contest at the next CitizenCon, so if you want to take your time on your costume and prepare for the in-person show - you've got time! FAQ Are there rules? There are. Right here. Please check them out before you begin crafting! Can we do a group Cosplay? Of course, up to five cosplayers can be in your photo. If you'd like to be judged together, please submit one spectrum post. If you'd like to be judged separately, please submit your cosplays individually. We'll award each member of the group a prize if your group takes first, second, third, or scoops up an honorable mention. Can I use my cosplay that I entered last year? Nope! If you've already entered your cosplay in an official CIG Cosplay Contest, you will need to make something new to be eligible for this year's contest. I see that it ends on Halloween, does my costume have to be scary? That's a negative. Your costume can be spooky if you want, but absolutely doesn't have to be. It's not a Halloween-themed contest, just happens to end on a pretty convenient date for you to re-use your costume for all your Halloween needs. Question wasn't answered here?
