Once again, the PvP griefer community has found something new to cry about. This time, their outrage is directed at Star Citizen’s Item Recovery System—because apparently, if they can’t permanently steal your gun, the entire game is ruined. But wait, there’s more! Now they’re convinced that this system will single-handedly kill crafting, all because some players get to keep a few gear they paid for to help the project. Let’s be clear: we’re talking about a handful of items out of hundreds and hundreds in the game. The vast majority of loot, gear, and crafted goods are still up for grabs. Yet, in typical PVP griefer fashion, they act like the sky is falling. And let’s not forget their real complaint—their inability to loot you dry. This isn’t about game balance. This isn’t about crafting. This is about the fact that their favorite pastime—murdering players and stripping them of everything they own—is no longer as profitable. They wanted to reduce every fight to “kill, loot, repeat,” turning Star Citizen into a glorified stick-up simulator. Now that they can’t, they’re throwing a tantrum. What they fail to realize is that crafting in Star Citizen isn’t about hoarding loot—it’s about creating and sustaining a player-driven economy. People will still need weapons, armor, ship components, and consumables. Players will still lose ships, cargo, and most of their gear in combat. The only thing they won’t get to do is strip players down to their underpants every time they score a kill. But let’s be honest—PVP and griefers are never happy. If they can’t loot your gun, they complain. If they can loot your gun, they demand more. If crafting thrives, they’ll call it broken. If crafting struggles, they’ll call it pointless. Their satisfaction is a black hole—forever consuming, never fulfilled. And if you ever need a good laugh, just go watch SallyMike have a full-on meltdown over this. Watching him declare that he “just won’t play anymore” if this system comes in is pure comedy gold. We’ve heard this song and dance before, yet somehow, he always finds his way back. Give it time, and he'll be ranting about something else while still logging in like the rest of us. So, let us raise a glass to their suffering, for it is poetic justice. The rest of us can now enjoy a game where PvP has stakes but doesn’t result in outright robbery. And to the PVP and griefers still crying in the forums: perhaps it’s time to find a new game. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- say what you want - cry all you want - I will not be repling to any more on here so have fun freakin out and being Toxic. - update: 10 replies later LOL ok now I am done have fun - Update ok now I'm done, have fun all. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don’t mind PvP and even participate occasionally, but I don’t think it fits well in a game like this. Players can spend hours preparing a ship, loading it with gear, or setting it up as a home in deep space—only to be wiped out minutes later by someone flying around a space station in a fighter with nothing to lose. With this level of detail in this game, it clearly wasn’t designed for that kind of gameplay. Right now, it's an open-world free-for-all as they "needing data" as new systems like the "Item Recovery System," come online. But the depth and complexity of this game suggest it was never meant to be played this way. The main reason I dislike PvP is that hackers, exploiters, and scripters exist in every online PvP FPS and MMO. There’s always a 50/50 chance that the person you’re fighting is one or all of them — whereas NPCs never do.
