I have not spoken about MM despite all the debates around it, because I wanted to wait and give Yogi and the rest of the team a chance to iterate further based on our feedback and see how it shapes up in a few months before giving my final opinion. Now that the 3.23.1.a patch is around the corner with big changes to missiles and torpedoes... I have never been this confused and worried about the future of ship combat. It's not so much that I'm angry... More so that I'm dumbfounded by the level of ridicule of these changes. I'm seriously starting to ask myself if the team behind these balance changes even play the game? Or only look at data and statistics to move the needle and see how the community reacts. Missiles and torpedoes have been notoriously ineffective for years! Case and point... Nobody uses missile boats... like... ever :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:. Especially not in PVP where you can just spam CM's and laugh as the enemy wastes their expensive missiles and torps. Doesn't help that they are so expensive now. At this point, I'm really confused about the vision for MM and the future of combat in this game. I'm not angry because I don't even know what I'm supposed to be angry about at this point. I just don't get it. If these changes are part of a larger plan that will fix all of our worries, then I think we deserve a detailed explanation of what this is all leading to. Such is the nature of a transparent game development. As things are, I have personally no clue of what the point of these random changes are. If the team played missile/torpedoes boats, they would know that the speed nerf is the LAST thing they needed. No body plays your Talon Shrike. No body play your Freelancer MIS. No body play the gladiators. And barely anyone played the eclipse or Tali outside of some very rare cases (Like Xeno Threat). Is this not data you guys should be paying attention to as well? Edit: They have addressed the matter here: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/50259/thread/cig-10/6937316 Temporary change. Wished they would communicate this better.
