This isn't about a witch-hunt but rather about accountability. We want to know why and how decisions are taken to monetize the game. There have been too many instances of these decisions absolutely destroying any hype and goodwill SC started to grow and as a backer I truly feel like this needs to be kept in check. When devs come to these shows and talk about their work, they are putting skin in the game because players and content creators will remember anything that's been said there. They take their responsibility and as a community we observe whether promises are kept and game design aligns to the vision we all have of what SC should become. It has become clear to a lot of us with the latest Flight Blades scandal that game design is a necessity, but isn't sufficient for the game to be successful. Marketing also needs to get their ship together and stop trying to disgust old, new and potential players alike. There needs to be a public discussion about SC's monetization, CIG needs to take responsibility for these decisions (not just deflect the heat in a half-baked spectrum post) and we the backers, the players, need to be kept informed and respected. An Inside Star Citizen episode with a behind the scene look at the decision process behind what should go in the pledge store, how are items priced and a no-bullshit Q&A would go a long way to take the first step to regain trust both inside and outside the player base. However, it shouldn't stop here and go back to business as usual, the way the customers have been handled in recent time isn't sustainable and actions need to be taken to get the monetization healthy again. Peace
