hi all atm, every big ship flies like smaller ships, just with fewer strafe-Gs and rotation speeds. there is literally no skill required, to lift the big ships into the sky.....you strafe up, point the nose up and go! it's boring, no challenge...... especially fully laden ships like a cat or C2 should need at least some skill in energy management to get her down, and up again safely how could that be achieved? 1) the bigger a thruster, the longer the reaction time to inputs should be this way, you just can't pitch up and don't fall down. you would need to accelerate forward first, build up momentum, and then you can pitch up to gain altitude. 2) we finally need cargo weight implemented! there is pretty much NO change in flight char right now, even when carrying a full load of metals! we should see good flight characteristics when empty, a pain to fly when maxed out 3) actual heat management the higher the gravity, the more thrusterpower is needed in slow flight and hover. you need to fly smooth and precise, to not overheat on the last meters down...... 4)-X) open for suggestions that are my 3 cents on that matter. big ships are literally iWin buttons atm, that fly like fighters (C2 7,5g upstrafe? wtf) and require ZERO skill to achieve its goals EDIT: im a bit disappointed that i did not get the 50 picards. on the other hand im positively surprised, that according to the amount of upvotes on the general idea that (beside rightfully mentioned ships, that are already behaving more like they should) big ships in general need some additional skill-factors in piloting them, that account more for their mass. thanks for that. it shows, that the majority here also wants actual skill-promoting mechanics in this game, and no watered down flying
