Before diving into the main point I want to discuss, I must first declare that I am a loyal player and fan of Star Citizen. I have invited dozens of friends to join me in this game, and I myself was also invited by a friend. It is through this kind of relationship that Star Citizen has been able to thrive. Undoubtedly, the growth of the Star Citizen community is largely driven by spontaneous promotion among players. Here, I would like to express my gratitude and respect to all loyal players of Star Citizen. At the same time, I also want to thank the developers for creating this magnificent work. Now, let's get to the main topic - What the Polaris QA Tells Us. 1.The Polaris QA pointed out that the production of the Polaris has set a benchmark for the future development of large capital ships. Wait, a benchmark? I believe most people would disagree. The Polaris has not yet met the true standards of a capital ship. Currently, apart from its price (900+) and beautiful appearance that somewhat meet the standards of a capital ship, both its functionality and firepower are far from that of a true capital ship. Let's first talk about firepower. The electromagnetic ejection torpedoes, which were heavily promoted as a key feature in the concept, fail to deliver their expected power, resulting in us having to use torpedoes like rockets. In recent days, people have been comparing the Polaris to the "Sturmtiger" of World War II. Furthermore, the weak main cannons struggle even against medium-sized ships. Next, let's discuss functionality. As a ship with a standard hangar for carrier-based aircraft, the Polaris relies solely on manual repairs and resupply. Manual repairs are somewhat understandable, but manual resupply? Can installing a few missiles on carrier-based aircraft with tools be considered resupply? If this is considered a function of the Polaris, then can I assume that its professional carrier hangar is on par with a large platform on a cargo ship? Where are the advantages of a professional hangar? Moreover, how can a ship that can only manually resupply a few missiles be expected to undertake deep space patrol missions? In the initial concept manual, we can see that the Polaris is capable of serving as the command ship for a militia fleet. So, does the militia have fully equipped military resupply ships as backup? If not, how can the Polaris, with its weak resupply capability, be expected to handle militia border patrol missions? 2.The dedicated room for the deputy captain was removed to increase the size of the armory. However, despite the expansion, the armory still cannot accommodate all the crew's armor, which raises the question: was this change a failure? Furthermore, there is still a significant amount of wasted space on the Polaris. Could it be that the removal of the deputy captain's room was merely an excuse to cut costs? Moreover, shouldn't it be up to the players to decide whether a ship needs a deputy captain? Why is it now up to the QA to tell me, "Oh, you don't need a deputy captain, the deputy captain has been fired!" 3.It's important to recognize that RSI has always been the most representative and undisputed company in Star Citizen. However, I believe that RSI doesn't have a single ship that truly exemplifies this. The Polaris' rudimentary cockpit seats and control panels (which are even of poorer quality than those you can buy in a mall), the useless captain's seat that serves only as decoration, the torpedo launcher that can only be operated while standing and offers a poor view, the medical room devoid of any medical supplies, the lack of technological feel in the cabins, and the corridors filled with sharp corners (where crew members can easily be injured or killed in zero-gravity conditions) all suggest that this ship is merely intended to be a sacrificial "cannon fodder". 4.Let's talk about unmanned turrets. In 2024, unmanned turrets have already been widely adopted. Yet, on this supposed high-tech warship of the future, the main cannons are still manned turrets. Alright, unless you can tell me that manned turrets offer significant advantages over remote-controlled turrets, why insist on using them? Are you trying to send my crew to their deaths? Perhaps I'm speaking too directly, but I have to say that the entire QA response seems like a perfunctory reply after collecting everyone's opinions. If you're not willing to make any changes, then why bother collecting feedback and suggestions? We can see that there are countless excellent and valid suggestions, yet you've chosen to ignore them. If what you need is only praise, then why not open a separate topic called "Come Praise Our Polaris Design" and delete everyone who offers constructive criticism? I know that this letter of feedback will soon be deleted, but I want to say that if you're only capable of hearing praise and not listening to criticism, then I won't bother offering any more in the future. I can only wish you the best. Time will tell. Lastly, thank you to all the developers who have worked hard for Star Citizen, and thank you to all the players. I wish you all a wonderful day.
