Events with boorishly sluggish grinds required to complete ... Just this event: 15x go to x location and recuperate data pad (30 total if you do both sides) 17x kill target (34) 10x kill polaris (20) It would be one thing if I could chain them, but instead, you force a timer for the mission to reappear. This isn't an event, it's bloody "busy work" and it's the most lazy ass approach ti running an event I've ever seen. And this is event after event after event ... grind more every time. What's the goal, to increase "play time" to show off to investors ? Rewards are hardly worth the effort ... Then let's not forget about all the bugs, such as for me not being able to start this event up until a week and a half after it started, because my character was stuck in eternal loading screen and server locked to a broken server. How about the amount of times there was no data pad ? And the list goes on. I'm not even done with phase 1, only just started phase 2, and now I need to kill 20 Polaries. Please CIG, for our sanity, reduce the amount of points needed to complete these events, and then simply let people keep playing them if they wish to. Quit asking us to hall unfathomable amounts of goods from one place to another, mine or salvage etc ... Grinding is no fun, grinding doesn't lead to anyone enjoying the "event". Don't think I'm gonna bother finishing this one, not even sure with my late start and amount of time I can play that I'll even be able to complete 1 side before it's over. Congrats on driving players away from such events. Don't forget it's mostly us "cash cows" who have a job and little time who are funding this whole thing. Anyway, rant over, feel free to criticize in the comments. EDIT for extra context of why I made this thread: Said it before in the thread, will repeat it again: That's fine, we've all understood that bugs are a thing, we all heard him say that. Problem is, as my thread said in my op, the issue is the grind ... The bugs are an aggravation of the grind, a thing which causes further irritation of the nerves, further loss of patience ... of willingness to understand what we agreed to. Prolonging the grind is counter productive to participation ... no more participation leads to no more bug testing. You get the big picture ? So as I said: events should be fun. Rewards should not be locked behind endless grind ... My way to reframe the event, boost participation and have players keep playing after they receive rewards is: 1. make rewards obtainable earlier on, no grind ... complete 2-5 times each phase (multiplied by the amount of players doing the event, you got your data) 2. make a final hidden reward for the side that wins ... this gets players involved to make their side win (more data, and guess what ? willful grind from the player) This way, players such as myself who don't necessarily have the time to grind can get the rewards and feel happy for participating, for having been there, and those who wish to keep grinding can do so so their side can win ... it's a win win win situation, everyone wins. Jobless players win, players with a job win, CIG wins.
