As a female player in the 'verse, I’m actually pretty impressed with the immersive universe CIG that is crafting— the attention to physics, ship design, the works. But one thing keeps yanking me out of the experience, and it's so jarring that I just have to say it: female characters moving like they’re men. I get it, coding is simpler when you slap some curves on a male skeleton and call it “body type 2.” But women don’t sprawl like dudes when sitting or swagger like them when walking. We're not deliberately trying to be "feminine" or "girly" — it’s just simple biology. Here’s why it’s off: Women’s wider pelvis lowers the centre of mass (around the hips), enabling a centered stride and compact sitting posture. Men’s narrower hips and higher center (near the chest) lead to a broader gait and splayed stance. The narrower male pelvis leads to longer strides and pronounced shoulder swing (i.e., the swagger we see characters loping around the stations with.) Our lower centre of gravity gives us a more balanced, less exaggerated stride than men’s shoulder-heavy gait. The Q-angle - the femur-to-pelvis angle - tilts our knees inward slightly, so we don’t splay out when sitting or move with a wide stance. We don't often stand with our feet splayed out either (attached images showing male vs female standing posture). These differences are real. Yet in Star Citizen, female characters sprawl like they’re at a bar or walk with a dude’s swagger, breaking immersion. It’s Mass Effect 2 all over again—FemShep’s clunky male animations next to Miranda’s exaggerated and hyper-sexualised sway, with no middle ground rooted in actual female anatomy. Why? Because “body type 2” is just a male skeleton with boobs, not a reflection of how women are built. You can't put a pair of breasts on a man and then claim he's now a female character - it would be completely disrespectful to your female audience. (I hope I'm not the only one, or the only one who's noticed this) Women are a completely different type of human being. It would be great if games could actually reflect this. I’m frustrated that for a game that pursues hyper-realism and perfection in physics, it seems to sidestep biology, and erases the reality of what makes women distinct. Women are half the human race, with unique biology that deserves to be modeled with the same care. CIG, can you give female skeletons the same love? Stop treating us like we're reskinned men. We’re real, we’re different, and it's worth getting this right! :slightly_smiling_face:
