Man, this new team at CIG has killed the soul of Star Citizen that Chris Roberts pitched. It's lost its identity. It really has become Rust in space with extra steps. The game was pitched for 10 years as a game where you are living and working in a galatic universe. The main goal was to advance your reputation in your career path amongst players and NPCs. I.e. be a Citizen of the Stars. It was pitched as an RPG without the gamey leveling system, but all the deep world building. Base building was a side concept - an off-handed stretch goal. Now base building and crafting is virtually the whole d@÷n game. Its practically an MMO Minecraft with better graphics, guns, and overpriced ships. I would have never backed this project if Chris Roberts pitched this 13 years ago. For context, I don't like base building. I always planned to buy an apartment at ArcCorp or live out my ship like a true spaceman.
