Since I started testing in 2.6.3, missiles and torpedoes always hit at least 3 shield faces. I only know of 2 exceptions, very large ships and very small missiles. In 3.10 all missiles and torpedoes, with the exception of size 5 torpedoes, are hitting only one shield face now, unless you are hitting right at the border of 2 shield faces. The game is using the concept that the damage a missile/torpedo does is divided by the number of shield faces it hits and any excess damage is applied to the structure hit points of the target. I find this concept very gamey and it doesn't make much sense. Anyway, since almost all missiles/torpedoes are hitting only one shield face now, the targets will take a lot more damage. Hammerhead for example is now already in a damaged state when hit by one size 9 torpedo at the front, see video. I think the fact that missiles and torpedoes are only hitting one shield face in 3.10 is a bug, maybe related to CIG's unsuccessful attempts to fix Singe guns. I created an IC-report: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/community/issue-council/star-citizen-alpha-3/STARC-125313-Missiles_torpedoes_only_hitting_1_shield_face
