Ok I am a golden ticket, Kickstarter backer. I have an MVP, founded a fairly large org and arguably the largest in game event alliance (Operation Pitchfork). I have literally thousands of hours playing, have way too many ships, and OMG a stupid number of forum posts. All the above is stated to make the point I am invested in the game and not going anywhere. For the "this is an alpha" crowd to quote CR "This is a live game too" so please don't waste your time, that point means nothing adding no value. That out of the way I play games to escape the mundane and tedium of daily life. I am a project engineer and while I love my job and my team, I really need to get away from spreadsheets, meetings, project, Scrum meetings and power point. I play games to do things I can't in the real world. Like many backers I am time limited, so time is valuable to me and I really resent having it wasted. With the changes in 3.15 instead of backspacing I am now forced to eat and drink in game, a mechanic I have loathed since the start. It's something I can and do in real life, adds no game play value to me and only exposes me to that awesome helmet bug. (Thanks guys!) Basically a waste of my time. For those who say it's like fueling a ship, I can't fuel a spaceship in real life, I can and do eat, thank you very much. The whole player status system could have waited till after core game play systems like salvage, in space refueling, and repair IMHO, but that's water under the bridge. We have it and we are stuck with it. I don't see CIg letting us opt out no matter how much fun it sucks from the game. And it surely does. The physical inventory changes really really extends the game loops by adding tedium. As of this writing I have roughly 15 or 20 hours in 3.15 PTU, so not all that much but I think I have completed there or four missions total. Most my time has been just trying to get geared up. ( CIG why the heck did you pull the Atlas drive from PO?). I expect it will get better once I get it sorted, but it's going to take weeks or months of pain once 3.15 goes live, not to mention grinding everything back up. Basically the physical inventory system has turned the game into a player driven set of fetch and carry missions, which as we all know are the worst, most boring noob starter quests. I mean we can't even buy and move ship components as far as I can find. So if I want my ten plus size one ships to have an Atlas dive, I have to fly each of them to HURL5 to install it and gosh the original drive is stuck there unavailable for use unless I move another ship there. Too add more to this fetch and carry tedium, someone decided to reduce the number of locations key parts are available. joy. I don't think I have ever run a space FedEx mission, not sure if I did, it was at least four years ago, now they are self imposed. Thanks CIG. I am a ship combat focused player, I used to like mining a lot, but the changes made since 3.11 killed it. (how many people mine anything besides quantum? Don't you think that might be an indicator of an issue?) To the devs, you know sometimes more is less, and mining is a poster child of that. 3.10 was as perfect a mechanic as you could ask for, challenging, clean, easy to explain.. Nothing felt better than cleanly breaking an unstable rock with a hair thin green zone. Now we get buff citizen Mehh, sad part is I own an Orion. So what's the point of the wall of text above? Honestly I am not 100% sure, While I love the game still it's harder to find the fun, I am unhappy with the general direction of the game in 3.15, the order of implementation of major mechanics especially those unasked for like food and drink seem added to only punish the player, ones we want get pushed back. Let's not even get into the planes in space flight model. Hint, combat is at best "ok" nowhere near as great as in 2.x. it is certainly not "exciting and visceral", but I digress. Bottom line CIG is forcing mechanics that extend the game loops, wasting time with little or no game play value added. I get this is a process, Lord knows I am patient (look up golden ticket), but what the heck? I guess my question is what is the vision for the average play session going forward? I don't expect an answer here (it would be nice though), but I think I will get one at some point. My friends have been at every citcon and major gathering and have talked to CR personally on multiple occasions. I expect this trend to continue. (Btw thank you Chris for making the time over the years) But whatever CIG is thinking, I suggest they cut it in half or by ⅔rds, because where they are heading currently is too long by far. Other suggestions, add a system that lets us move all items for a small fee, heck add it to nicknack. Short term just make it magically trade items that are at your current station for lore, emerson and keeping the time down. Long term CIG could even use it to generate insured cargo missions. I normally put a tldr in but not this time because of the nature of the topic. Thanks for taking the time to read this Last thought CIG please respect my time, right now it feels like you don't. Cheers
