Following is a summary of important keybind changes introduced in 3.23. :scroll: Patch Notes: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/190048?page=1&sort=newest Most of these keybind changes were introduced in build 9125941, along with a few more that have since been reverted. :information_source: New Vehicle Combat and Flight Behavior is documented in the extended notes for build 9141366, including background information on cruise changes: :spiral_note_pad: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/190048/thread/star-citizen-alpha-3-23-0-eptu-patch-notes-8/6751962 General Personal Inner Thought (PIT) is now Left alt + F New Loot inventory view is long press i. Old Inventory is still short press i. Enter Remote Turret binds have moved into the section Vehicles - Seats and Operator Modes. On Foot Primary weapons - 1 and 2 Sidearm - 3 Consumable (Medpen, Tigersclaw) - 4 Multitool / Paramed - 5 Melee - 6 Throwable (Grenade, Quickflare) - G Prone - Left ctrl Crouch - C Flight - Keyboard & Mouse :exclamation: Long press B is the default for Cycle Master Mode. Short press available as an alternative bind [under Flight - Movement]. :exclamation: Left mouse (Mouse 1) is the default for Engage Quantum Drive [under Flight - Quantum Travel]. :exclamation: Middle Mouse Button (Mouse 3) cycles Next Operator Mode [under Vehicles - Seats and Operator Modes]. ► Operator Modes include Guns, Missiles, Scan, Mining, Salvage in SCM, and Quantum, Flight, Scan in NAV. (Flight hides QT UI) ► Keybinds for direct access to each operator mode are also available. Radar Ping is now back on Tab. Request Cargo Loading is now Right alt + N. (Regular Request Landing for hangar depart/arrival remains Left alt + N). :new: Gravity Compensation and Automatic Precision Mode (30 m/s limit with gear extended) can now be toggled manually per keybind [bottom of Flight - Movement]. ► Both functions are on by default, and have no default keybind. ► Currently there is no UI to indicate their states. This will be added after 3.23. (see also notes for build 9145576) Cruise control functionality now behaves as a relative or sticky throttle: Toggled with Left alt + C by default, found under Flight - Movement > Throttle - Cruise Mode - Toggle. :exclamation: If you re-bound Cruise control in 3.22 it will not carry over. Rebind it under the new name. :exclamation: Also if you re-bound Decoupled to Alt + C in 3.22 double check it isn't in conflict. ► Once enabled, cruise will initially use your current speed as the setpoint it maintains. Pressing W or S (or using any bound throttle axis) will increase/decrease your setpoint speed. To reset to 0 either toggle cruise again, or press X (same as spacebrake). ► While enabled, the setpoint for cruise is shown to the left of your velocity: https://i.imgur.com/XdeSiTg.jpg ► Switching to decoupled does not automatically cancel cruise. Flight - Stick & Throttle The forward & backward bindings have changed name and will not be carried over from prior versions, and there are no more separate abs & rel bindings. Don't forget the matching inversion setting under Controls tab, if necessary. For HOSAS / Sticks (-100 to +100 on axis) - Throttle - Forward / Back For HOTAS / Throttles (0 to +100 on axis) - Throttle - Increase (this is a slight mislabel, it corresponds to old Throttle/Strafe Forward) For Pedals - Throttle - Increase controls the forward axis (0 to +100), Throttle - Decrease the backward axis (-100 to 0) There are new binds for Master Modes and Operator Modes: Rebind your old quantum travel button to Cycle Master Mode, found near the bottom of Flight - Movement. This will switch between SCM and NAV modes (NAV includes quantum). Either switch your Missile Operator button or assign another to Next Operator Mode, under Vehicles - Seats and Operator Modes. ► This cycles all op-modes available in your current master mode. Ex: Guns, Missiles, Scan, Mining and Salvage in SCM, and Quantum, Flight, Scan in NAV. (Flight hides QT UI) ► Binds for direct access to each operator mode are also available. Leave Engage Quantum Drive (Hold) under Flight - Quantum Travel as before, overlapping with Cycle Master Mode. :new: Gravity Compensation and Automatic Precision Mode (30 m/s limit with gear) toggle keybinds are now available [bottom of Flight - Movement]. ► Both functions are on by default. ► Currently there is no UI to indicate their states. This will be added after 3.23. (see also notes for build 9145576) Cruise control functionality has been replaced with Throttle Trim for HOSAS setups. Recommended binds: Throttle - Trim - Set (Long Press) Throttle - Trim - Release (Short Press) ► Both can be bound to the same button, and then a long or short press will activate and deactivate the Trim function. To use, bring your throttle to a desired value (e.g. 75%), press the Set button, and release your stick. The ship will now maintain the set throttle level. Any further inputs are treated relative to the setpoint, so pulling back will adjust downward from 75% for example. Resetting to absolute input is done with the Release button. Alternatively if you will only want to hold throttle at 100% instead of arbitrary levels, you can bind: Throttle - Trim - Set to 100% (Long Press) ► This mimics the old cruise control behavior of full throttle. Resetting to zero is as above with Release. :warning: Currently there is no HUD UI indication when throttle trim is set. This will appear in a later patch. Targeting T (long press) - Enable / disable auto targeting. Picks closest hostile in view (based on crosshair angle). T (short press) - Closest target in view, repeated press cycles targets by distance 4 - Closest attacker (ship targeting you), then cycle by distance 5 - Closest/cycle hostiles 6 - Closest/cycle friendlies 7 - Closest/cycle all R - Target and cycle subsystems Left alt + R - Reset to main target after targeting subsystem Left alt + Right Mouse (Mouse 2) - Precision Targeting - Toggle [under Vehicles - Weapons category] Other Common Questions ▲ Why is my ship only moving 30 m/s? ► Raise your landing gear. This will be more fully configurable in the future (after 3.23). ► There is a keybind to enable/disable this function: Flight - Movement > Automatic Precision Mode. ▲ Can I fly fast in NAV mode without having the quantum HUD and markers showing? ► Yes! Press Middle Mouse Button while in NAV mode to switch between Quantum, Flight, and Scan sub-modes. ► This bind can be found under Vehicles - Seats and Operator Modes > Next Operator Mode It is the same one that in SCM mode cycles between Guns, Missiles, and Scan sub-modes. ▲ How do snubs work with NAV mode? ► Those snubs that have a quantum drive (ex: 85X or M50) can enter NAV mode just like other ships. Snubs without a quantum drive can switch modes but do not gain any speed at the moment. This is not the final state and still being worked on. ► Further info on possibilities being considered for snub NAV mode: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/master-modes-and-snubfighters/6330521
