The good: UI looks incredible, seriously 10/10. I can't wait to make videos with this Alien ships can see damage status for self/target now Unique UI for every ship that adds a ton of character to the different manufacturers MFDs are much smoother to interact with now The bad: The oversized aiming UI makes it impossible to actually see the target you're aiming at or see where your own bullets are going. The good news is that it may be a bug, but it is still very frustrating to deal with and creates a very poor aiming experience. Pips, crosshair, and hitmarkers are gigantic (likely a bug where UI magnification is stuck on, but they are very bad for aiming) Tons of UI elements that were easy to ready before are now hidden in random parts of the cockpit and/or very difficult to read. It is simply not practical to have all of this information spread out so much, especially when things like boost are indicated by one tiny white line moving up and down. Boost gauge is very difficult to see, especially during combat Flare count is tiny to the point where it's almost impossible to see Ammo count is tiny and only available on the self-status MFD, which you can't watch during combat. Missiles have the same issue Radar blips are too tiny and blend in with other radar UI elements Speedometer is difficult to read when the meter itself changes going between SCM unboosted and SCM boosted Solution: Create an extended info UI to combine all of the important information (boost, flares, ammo, speed, acceleration) close around the crosshair similar to the old UI or the current precision mode. Make it a setting that can be toggled off for players who prefer to have an unobstructed view of space and are not concerned with combat. MFD casts are stuck on the edge of the screen, which means that they are very impractical to look at during combat (and impossible to look at on ultrawide monitors) They need to be smaller and closer to the center so that we can look at them during combat: Some other critical HUD issues for combat: Nametags are missing on small ships unless they are scanned There is no distance to target on MFDs anymore, so you have to be looking directly at a ship to know how far away it is. This is especially bad for larger fights. You cannot afford to turn around every time someone targets you in order to see if you are in immediate danger. Different modes (scanning, NAV, SCM) all have different MFD setups The self status got downgraded. It now visually moves with your inputs and you can no longer view your ship from multiple angles. This makes it harder to see stuff on more vertical ships like the Khartu-Al, San'Tok Yai, and Syulen. Finally, with no presets or saved per-account settings for ships, you have to set all of your MFDs, power, and weapon groups every time you get a new ship. For the PU this can be frustrating, and for AC this is a major issue. It can take up to 30 seconds for even an experienced player to do all of this. If you're respawning in squadron battle, you may end up dead before you get through all the menus and settings. The only in-game way to make this process smoother is the use of 11 new keybinds to rapidly flick through MFDs and set power every time you get a new ship, which my orgmate has put together a video showcase for:
