I’d like to address a serious issue in PTU 4.2.0 that not only frustrates players but also severely disrupts effective testing: Pointless PvP without consequences and a complete lack of tools to deal with it. What happened: I flew to Bloom I, then took the shuttle to Lazarus Station. As soon as I arrived – bam, immediately shot down without warning or reason. No interaction, no RP, nothing. Just someone bored and looking for easy targets. And it gets worse: The backspace key (respawn) doesn’t work. You’re stuck on the ground, completely unable to interact with the game. The only solution? Re-copy your character to the PTU. That’s a huge time sink for absolutely no reason. And it wasn’t just me: The floor was already littered with dozens of players, all lying there after being randomly gunned down in the same senseless manner. The in-game chat was exploding with complaints from players criticizing this absurd murderhobo gameplay. And the replies? “I’m just testing PvP”, “It’s a shooter”, “Don’t like it – don’t PTU”. But this isn’t about avoiding PvP – it’s about protecting the purpose of the PTU: testing new features and systems, not being target practice for trolls. My suggestion: Implement a reporting system: Give players the ability to report disruptive behavior – especially at key locations like Lazarus Station. Automatic PTU ban for excessive reports: If a player gets reported by several different users within a short time, they should be temporarily removed from the PTU (e.g., 24 hours). If you ruin testing, you don’t get to test. Fix the backspace (respawn) function. If someone dies or is downed, at least allow them to get back up. Being permanently stuck is unacceptable. Establish temporary PvE zones. Certain key areas (like test hubs or stations) should temporarily disable PvP to ensure proper testing without interference. Conclusion: The PTU is not a sandbox for chaos. It’s a controlled test environment. If players misuse it, CIG needs to provide tools to stop them – or risk undermining the testing process entirely. If you’ve had similar experiences: Upvote this post, share your story, and let CIG know this is a problem that needs solving.
