Please re introduce black out states? ( before any one even comments -- I am aware you can technically still blackout.) Perhaps a better statement would be Please make blackout more prevalent when maneuvering at speeds above SCM. As the speed limiter goes up, so too should the threat of going night night mid dogfight. There is 0 consequence for going 1200 M/S and then turning 180 degrees and boosting full power in the opposite direction, or doing any number of other maneuvers that currently heavily impact the dogfighting ship to ship gameplay. We (the PvP / dogfighting / combat oriented) community have been sold that the flight experience is something like a WW2 / Starwars visceral positional dog fighting game. But that feel has largely been missing since 3.0 and the flight model overhaul. the Flight model overhaul and the over all reduction in thrust values may have been necessary, and may even have been good, but none of the connected mechanics were adjusted along with it. Dog fights used to involve rolling off the G forces and was essentially done in various states of blacking / almost blacked out. I can remember the first time i turned off GSAFE and jumped into a dog fight. I blacked out almost immediately and woke up to my canopy getting shredded by machine gun fire just long enough to see the explosion. "Oh shit!" That was cool. I immediately turned Gsafe off FOREVER and began to "study" the mechanic. I discovered Good pilots understood this mechanic, and used techniques to mitigate it allowing them to fight on that blackout / redout edge and pushing the ship and the player character to its limits and thus maintain a position of advantage. I understand there is a big push for capacitor gameplay, and I am onboard. Managing your ships systems, and allowing ships / components to buff / debuff certain power supplies etc sounds great! Im not sure if the blackout state is the vehicle experience team, or the Actor Status team -- both??? whomever it may concern please take a look at the black-out mechanic. Respectfully, A. Viking.
