Hello CIG o7 ! I’ve been a Star Citizen player since 2016, always on AMD—first with a 6900, now with a 7900 XTX OC. I’ve always had the impression that Star Citizen and AMD updates tend to be more complicated or slower to stabilize. In a way it makes sense—far fewer players use AMD GPUs. However, what’s pushing me to write today is more urgent. At the moment, the newest AMD graphics drivers are completely blocking access to the game. Easy Anti-Cheat forces a crash, which means I have to reinstall the previous driver just to be able to play. The problem is that by staying on an outdated driver, I lose access to other software such as DaVinci Resolve. So I have to choose between Star Citizen and the rest of my tools… and of course I chose Star Citizen, hoping a fix would eventually arrive. But after more than a month and two AMD driver releases that still don’t work, I’m starting to worry. (And yes, I’ve sent the crash reports.) Another issue: for more than a year, I’ve never been able to launch the game using Vulkan. The game doesn’t get past shader compilation, and I’m concerned that the day we are forced to use this API, I’ll be unable to play at all—unless I spam crash reports and hope for a future fix. So here’s my question: From a development perspective, are these issues known? And if so, are there any fixes planned (as much as you’re allowed to say, of course)? Thank you very much in advance for any response you can provide.
