Dear fellow star citizens and CIG developers, In the PTU patch version 10244489, CIG tech group fixed the problem of missing medbeds and medgel slots in Idris. However, the T1 medbed inside ICU of the medbay is now replaced by a T2 medbed which has half the capacity of medgels and surgical potential. As I know, this is a bug that caused the Idris medbay malfunction in the previous patch. Here is some words from CIG: Idris - Incorrect Medical Bed Tier - “Found the issue there is an override been applied in the lyr for that bed” “We have the fix to make it actually behave as the T2 bed as intended, anyone datamining the bed entity will not see a change as it always was set to t2" Okay, let's move to the point. Why did Idris have T1 for a long time and get downgraded when CIG wants to sell Apollo? It is not just a bug but a trust problem. Idris is a capital-class ship that always emphasizes its might and power with lots of functions to make it work, and now it loses one of its major abilities when another ship that has the same ability is going to be released? After the new patch fixes, Idris now has less capacity of medgel stored in its medbay(4x2 + 1x4=12 medgels) compared to Polaris's medbay(4x4 =16 medgels) and even worse surgery abilities. To get Apollo's attention, CIG downgraded Idris's medical bed from a T1 to a T2 bed. And you're justifying it as a "mistake" or "bug"... a mistake that somehow went unnoticed in the five months since the ship was sold in May? I personally can trust that the bug-fixing tech team is just doing their job, but as an ordinary player, not a CIG action reporter, I can only consider this change to be somewhat unethical and fraudulent business behavior. (edited: my friend just checked the current LIVE version of 4.3.0, and Idris does have a T1 medbed with all the functions that can cue the most severe injuries, which makes me harder to believe T1 bed is a bug when no other ships have it right now) Idris-P is 1900USD price now, and Idris-M is more rare. From the official release of Idris on May 15th of Invictus Launch Week 2955, we have already had several Idris special sales, the recent one is at the price of sacrificing Idris's right of entry to the Best in Show annual vote. The problem isn't just the change itself—"We all knew Star Citizen needed adjustments," he said—the real issue lies in the timing and interpretation. Between August 26th and 30th, many players invested over $1,500 in a ship that suddenly lost its functionality. I paid for this game over 30000 USD, and I really don't care about the change itself, but I do care about the intention of this change, and I just want SC and SQ42 to keep growing. Think about the Javelin, CIG did the same, they never mentioned the level of med bed. Will it be a similiar similarbug that causes we may get a T1 medbed first when release and get nerfed later? We support the continued development of the game and the community, but we want transparency and honesty, not just vague "explanations" for silently weakening features. Some players and some of my friends knew it: I was one of the volunteer interpreters at the 2024 Shenzhen BarCitizen in China. I paid 3000 CNY(about 400 USD) for the ticket, and I spent almost all of my time doing my translation job for CIG and players for free. It was hot and wet, and lots of enthusiastic players calmed my nerves and made me think I was right. Chris Roberts(and his family), Tyler, JC, and other CIG developers who came to the event and made the ticket worth it. I know some players who are dedicated to Star Citizen and have served the community very well, much more than my humble job. At least, I want the community, the players, and CIG developers to have basic common trust that our investment in the game won't be in vain, including developing workloads, player investments, and community shaping. Finally, about the change itself, even if Idris "should" have a T2 medbed, not a T1 one, after 5 months, players all know their Idris can cue the most serious wounds with medbay, even Star Citizen Wiki description about Idris: "Medical ward Equipped with a comprehensive medical bay that includes 1x Tier 1 and 4x Tier 3 MedBeds, this facility facilitates the effective treatment of injured personnel, allowing for their swift return to active duty." Idris is reasonably equipped with a T1 medbed in the ICU room, as it is a UEEN military frigate that has deep-space long-period patrol duty on its shoulders. If the T1 medical bed layout is indeed a bug, and CIG has no intention of rechanging it back to T1, then this bug has caused players to make incorrect decisions based on false information. Therefore, we request that CIG issue a refund. This isn't for my personal benefit—as a Praetorian Pack owner, I don't care about that part—but rather to ensure that CIG demonstrates that they didn't intend to weaken the Idris, and to compensate the affected players. Here are my thoughts as a normal Star Citizen who wants to keep flying in the verse.
