Going through this fiasco with MM and the de-evolution of flight modeling.... I miss people who knew the game engine, and physics at play who could actually answer and address actual concerns because they actually knew what they were talking about... I feel (emphasis on feel), that we don't really have that anymore. I think the current devs and Yogi are doing their best, but they are doing it 'their' way, giving us the options they sort of picked out. "Its nerf this and do this, but the overrall system is MM, or such and such." While I have immense respect for the current developers and their hard work, and I understand that no one person has all the answers, And without trying to re-introduce drama... I really really do miss some of the really good and clear explanations John gave, good answers to certain questions communities asked - with direct knowledge of how the game works and is coded, which gave us confidence that the way the game was coded match Chris' vision. And iifrc he engaged directly with community members on some explanations regarding some documents he wrote. -- All that to say... I don't feel confident in the solutions or discussions CIG has given us thus far in these recent times... and I think its because they aren't sure either. And that doesn't inspire trust and confidence. Camural continues to explain and compare how Gravlev functioned very well under [Pritchett] back when it was first introduced, and the joke it is now, the buggy unhappy mess many don't like. Even the flight experience, the IFCS concept and design, how it was made to support Chris Roberts vision, and allowed expressive gameplay that was balanced in a more physics-minded, faceted, detailed way. Camural said it good in his latest video, about how certain ships are given unrealistic flight data (mass, accel, such) to balance out other design flaws rather than buffing what is more logical in a more simulated perspective. Changing weapons or shields or something else. Its my opinion, but treating the IFCS system as a cheap and cheat way to 'balance' ships should really be a rule that is never violated. Bent in some cases sure, but not broken. I don't think that the devs are dumb, and while im not sure what the process is exactly... but i feel their current balance process is genuinely and fundamentally flawed. (or becoming flawed). And unless this gets taken down, and unless they change what order they touch and balance ships, it is truly going to get worse and more absurd, mark these words. I hope im wrong. Ive got money in this game - i like it - but i hope i am wrong. What do yall think? (please genuine opinions, clear agreements, and thoughtful disagreements please.. lets try to be good mature healthy adults){notice the 'try'}
