In the IC there are 40+ reports regarding bounty missions breaking, many over 100 contributions and some breaking 400. combined there are THOUSANDS of reports on this issue. it is a issue that has been effectively "introduced" in what can only be described as "Intentional". The problem is a combination of poor server performance and a recent change to how the missions track. first off, bounties work by spawning the enemies in 2 distinct waves. First the target itself spawns. then the help spawns. Prior to 3.15 the game would update the mission to track the target the moment the target itself spawns. AS OF 3.15 THE GAME NOW WAITS FOR THE SECOND WAVE OF SPAWNING, THE HELP, TO TRACK THE PRIMARY TARGET OF THE MISSION. On its own this change would be harmless as in ideal situations the target and its help spawn within milliseconds of each other. once you include server preformance into the equation a major issue erupts.. IT CAN TAKE AS MUCH AS 5 TO 10 MINUTES FOR THE PRIMARY TARGET TO SPAWN IN A FULL SERVER. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN PRESENT SINCE 3.12. https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-1064 it takes as much time after the inital target spawns for its help to spawn. HERE LIES THE ISSUE. THE TARGET TAKES 5 MINUTES TO SPAWN, AND THE HELP TAKES 5 MINUTES TO SPAWN. THE MISSION DOES NOT UPDATE UNTIL 10 MINUTES AFTER REACHING THE TARGETS SPAWNING AREA. THE CHANGE IN 3.15 MENTIONED ABOVE HAS DOUBLED THE TIME IT TAKES TO DO BOUNTIES.. Some of you will point out that "ok, it just takes longer". lets not forget that for 5 minutes that target is flying around and trying to kill you... and.. IF YOU KILL THE TARGET BEFORE THE HELP SPAWNS AND THE MISSION UPDATES THE GAME WILL ALMOST ALWAYTS FAIL TO EVER TRACK THE TARGETS DEATH. https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-22359 https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-24000 https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-23848 https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-24390 https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-3090 https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-22696 https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-20724 https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-24423 https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-4087 some of these IC posts are as old as 3.13, and are seeing new posts regarding the 3.15 issue in them.. there are far more than i can honestly be bothered to post here but the point is, this is a well documented, well explained issue at this point.. Bounties being slow to spawn is one thing, however this 3.15 issue of the target not being tracked when it spawns is another and needs to be addressed. personally i would like to know how this issue got passed into the game, when it so clearly breaks the live gameplay loop for bounties. if this was done intentionally, then it was done purely internally by someone who has no understanding of how the full live servers affect missions at best. at worst if it was done intentionally it was done purely to make people wait to try and make bounties harder by forcing players to deal with the targets help as well as the target, again totally ignoring how the live server performance can utterly break such things. I can only hope it was not intentional. Please. Fix this Asap... hotfix, w/e. just get it back to where it was where at least the target is tracked the moment it spawns. I will accept that for now because at least i will be able to do bounties again without worrying if the target will kill itself before the mission updates.
