I think Hover Mode was near perfect after 3.6.2 and after testing the new mode in 3.7 on PTU I want to start a petition to bring back Hover Mode. So many people complained about HM without understanding how to properly use it. Nobody but a few understood that adjusting both the Speed and Accelerator Limiters were the key to a smooth controlled landing. Nobody but a few understood that different planet and moon gravities affected how much Acceleration Limiter (power) was needed differently for each. The new landing mode is not much different from what we had previously. It's so unrealistic with no skill needed to land at all. For so many in this game that want a realistic experience, I'm shocked that you would not give HM a fair chance before compaining about something you didn't fully understand. Shame on you! The only one thing that CIG could have done to make Hover Mode in 3.6.2 even better is to have the VTOL thrusters shift slightly between 0 degress (engines faced fully to the rear) and 90 degress (engines straight up and down in full hover mode) when moving forward in speeds less than 100m/s. When in HM and you move forward slighly, for example, 50m/s your thrusters would be in a 45 degree angle to give your ship the forward thrust needed to move forward. The same way a real life Marine Corps Osprey's rotars shift from Hover mode to full flight mode. That would be for ships such as the Cutlass and Valkyrie which have no rear thrusters and forward movement is dependant on the VTOL thrusters shifted to the 0 degree angle (engines faced fully to the rear). In other ships such as the Connie, 600i and others, there's no need because there are no VTOL thrusters. These ships have stationary thrusters in the rear of the ship that can provide the forward thrust needed. Here's where and when in Hover Mode a pilot must adjust the Speed Limiter to a extremely low setting for "precision" and the Accelerator Limter to control the amount of "power" or "thrust" your engines need in an area such as landing where both limiters set to full 100% in atomosphere is extrememely too powerful. ***THIS IS WHY MOST OF YOU FAILED TO LAND YOUR SHIPS PROPERLY IN HOVERMODE BECAUSE YOU NEVER TOOK TIME TO UNDERSTAND THIS! For those of you that complained about HM after 3.6.2, you all need to LEARN TO FLY (L2F)!!! 3.6.2 was the most precise landing experience that I've had while using Hover Mode. My landings where perferctly controlled. The take offs in atmosphere were also amazing as well and there was no more need to tilt your entire ship forward to get forward movement like a helicopter in the way HM was in the earliest versions of 3.6. For those of you that think it's realistic for your ship to take off from a landing in atmosphere and immediatly looking like you're a Space X rocket leaving the Kennedy Space Center into orbit need to understand what type of thrust and how much fuel would be needed to do such a thing for those larger ships such as the Connie and Caterpillar.... I say again to you all that hated on HM after 3.6.2.... L2F!!! BRING BACK HOVER MODE!!!
