So.. hopped into Nyx tonight after waiting in the line for a bit over a hour. Hopped into the Perseus and gave it a spin, found a few bugs (i'll do a separate post on that), then tried to land for the night... only to be directed towards a Docking port rather than a hangar, and the docking port had the "mis-alignment" BS that Standon had way back when with the Hull C, in that NYX wanted me to have my Perseus at a 45deg angle up, and about 40deg to the left.... and somehow dock. Can we PLEASE get an option to: 1) Hail Docking Services OR 2) Hail LANDING services (ie: a bloody hangar) There is 0 reason why at a landing zone that has everything from Small to XL hangars, that something like the Perseus (or even the Idris for that matter) should be DEFAULTING to the Docking Port option and ONLY the docking port Option. You already have in the game "Cargo Services" as something we can hail...... for the love of all that his holy, Split Hangars and Docking ports up into their own separate "Hailing Channels" as well. Let US decide if we want to land or dock. *Edit now that i am back from work* The most ironic thing is that back when the 890J / Hammerhead / Hull C were FIRST INTRODUCED and Docking was FIRST implemented.... we use to have to 'call to dock'. There were little in-space items hovering at the Docking ports we had to target, then 'hail' to request docking. If you didn't do that, you were given a hangar. Combine that with the current "Cargo Services", and there is literally 0 reason why we CANT chose to ask for a dock, or a landing pad. It 'should' be simple. Take what already exists with ATC / Cargo Services and come up with something like: ie: Player Hails Landing Services --- Landing Services (player-ship) ---- If player-ship size = (XS || S || M || L) excluding XL as an example of a landing zone without an XL landing hagar ------ assign hangar ---- Else (play-reject-audio "sorry no Hangar of the required sized is available" Player Hails Docking Services --- Docking Services (player ship) ---- If player-ship = (has docking port) ------ assign open docking port ---- Else (play-reject-audio "Sorry, your ship does not have the ability to dock"
