A superhornet is 45000 rec for 3 days, in 2.6 you could make 3k rec in a game if you played well consistently and rent a hornet for 10k rec for 7 days. After testing, you still make 3k rec in a game and now it costs 10 times the rec per day [(7/3)*45000]=105,000rec to rent anything with the same rec payouts as 2.6 (it is an increase over 3.0 which further nerfed rec, but who cares, AC has been dead since 3.0 so we should avoid those numbers). Basically, no the rec rewards have not changed to match the new rental prices. There is no reason to make it so difficult to obtain ships for AC rental and there are good reasons not to, because it's already hard enough for a new player to compete with an AC veteren on even terms, but now it's getting even harder to get on those even terms. Frankly you should cut rental prices by 10-20 times or multiply payouts by 10-20, or even just remove rec altogether and let people use whatever gear they want in AC. The existence of the leader boards imply there is some goal of a fair test of skill, but players stuck in auroras get screwed by needing to grind up under ridiculous conditions before they can even learn to play properly. edit: Just to further illustrate, my 3k number is based on a winning maxed out score which will take different people different amounts of time, but lets say 20 minutes, the full length is a generous estimate. So basically, even winning every match you play and maxing out the score you need to spend almost 2 hours a day maintaining the rental on one ship with no components. Now think about the other 15 players in a full battle royale match, those people will need to be spending anywhere between 3-20(assuming a low score payout of 250 rec) hours a day depending on which spot on the scoreboard they are on. Enjoy playing 20 hours a day in your aurora just to try to unlock a temporary new ship, new player. As if there's even anyone online to play against in arena commander, and why would they be when the whole experience is designed to be this arduous?
