There are an innumerable reasons for this, but it all comes down to some key points. Cities are a resource hog. Good hardware, bad hardware, it doesn't matter. It just takes longer to load a city on a planet, than a spacestation. Trams. No one wants to ride a tram to the spaceport every single time they want to get to their ship on logging in. Leaving atmosphere. It's not very engaging, and in some ships it takes a while, getting to space becomes a time sink where you set cruise control, and alt tab for a while. It's just not fun. You have tried, so many times to force players to go to cities. First it was trading, now it's hospitals, and you know what for gameplay purposes I'm fine with it. But being forced to spawn at a city isn't fun. This is not to say we don't appreciate, or like your cities, or that we'll never visit them, it's just that no one wants to be forced to go there all the time. So, with all that said, PLEASE let us spawn at : Port Olisar, Bajini Point, Port Tressler, Everus Harbour, and Grim Hex Let us set our homes, to the stations above the cities, because ultimatly, this is a game about space and thats where people want to be.
