Dear CIG, It's been 3 years and 8 months since the last major gunnery update. The last major gunnery update was back on OCTOBER 30TH 2014 when Arena Commander v0.9.2 released ESP, Look Ahead mode, and Target Focus. Unfortunately, ESP is now in worse condition then when it originally released, which is why combat is completely dead with the exception of a few combat pilots expressing their frustrations on PvE players in Persistent Universe. These disgruntled PvP pilot's logic is, if "we can't have fun, nobody can." While I don't necessarily support that stance, I think the fact that combat has gone drastically backwards has pushed people over the edge. For perspective, CIG released Arena Commander, v0.8.0 on JUNE 4TH 2014, then the v0.9.0 update on SEPTEMBER 12TH 2014, and the last major gunnery update on OCTOBER 30TH 2014. So in a span of 5 months CIG released the the first flight module, two major gunnery updates and nothing since. The Star Citizen Community is OVERDUE a major gunnery update to improve the combat experience for everyone, not just combat only orientated pilots. For example, PvEers are complaining about interdiction occurring way to much, but this wouldn't be a big problem if they could kill these NPCs more easily and move on with the things they want to do. Many people may know that I'm PvP pilot, but when I first backed this game I was planning on being a trader. Now because the v0.8.0 gunnery system was so forgiving I quickly fell in the love with PvP because the aim system was more at my level at the time (back when I was a PvEer). Now obviously good combat pilots adapt, which many of us have done, but due to desync and bad ESP trying to hit something, despite being an ace is almost impossible. So what can CIG do? Well here are the first things CIG can do: Slow combat down Remove this automatic dynamic convergence by distance To explain it further I've made a video and have also included my original white paper. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RrOXIt3Xq0m0o8UgkzOTzp8oBpEZKFGPjxCYwN-tHXA/edit?usp=sharing
