CIG Devs, I think many of your recent gameplay decisions, while probably well-intentioned, have resulted in slow, tedious gameplay that diminishes a lot of the 'fun' that existed previously. Here are three examples of what I mean: 1) Physicalized Items: While I'm sure this sounded good conceptually, the new gameplay produces needless tedium when moving your items to/from storage boxes or when looting or salvaging items/gear anywhere outside of a freight elevator. Possible Fix: Implement an inventory screen that offers tabs on both sides of the screen for your character, any bodies, any ship, and any storage boxes within 5 meters of your character. This would allow us to move items much more freely and easily between chracters, bodies, storage bins, etc. 2) Master Modes: The FM is far too slow and simply rewards the ships with the greatest DPS. It's now boring and offers too low of a skill ceiling. Possible Fix: If we can't revert MMs, at least raise max vehicle SCM speeds to somewhere between where they are now and the pre-MM max speeds. This would provide smaller ships with greater deflection speeds (to evade fire) and reduce travel times for all ships. Also, give all turrets on extra large ships a 75% range buff, all turrets on large ships a 50% range buff, and all turrets on medium ships a 25% range buff because they are more stable firing platforms. This will help reduce the Fighter advantage and give larger ships a benefit in combat. 3) Tractor-beam Rework: The changes to tractor beams have slowed down cargo movement to the point of making it painful. Possible Fix: If the ATLS must be better than the tractor beam rifle, at least allow the rifle to operate at it's previous speed for crates smaller than max size. Even if it can't lift the largest crates, it should be able to easily manipulate boxes, since that's its dedicated function. These changes, as well as a few others have, IMO, made SC gameplay much more of a chore than a 'game.' CR always discussed his plan to implement realism and then "bring it back to fun," so let's do that now, please.
