EDIT: Not sure if it warrants an IC report but to cover bases, it is listed here if you would like to contribute: https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-10433 This is a carry over from 3.12, 3.13, and now 3.14 PTU. I addressed the full issue here previously: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/possible-explanation-to-why-trade-is-bad-right-now However, quick recap: Nearly all commodities are set to spawn with a low or zero quantity on a fresh server. However, once that server syncs up with the general economy that is shared across all servers, it appears that the central economy sees this as 'purchased' and subtracts that from the general supply before it sends updated commodity/demand numbers out to servers. What this means is that every time a new server is spawned, it wipes out a massive chunk of supply and demand across all servers. The more servers crash/restart, the worse it gets. This appears to be the same on PTU. Below is an excerpt taken from an example commodity, generously provided by SC Trade Tools. Today, I spent several hours checking out trade outposts. Kudre Ore on Daymar had an interesting list that supports my theory, in addition to the previous evidence found on the thread listed above. The below screenshot comes from Kudre Ore on Daymar, taken today. In this example that I found in PTU, Agricium is both at base pricing and maximum quantity, a rarity given its restock rate of 38 units a minute to a cap of 2,800 units. This translates to the commodity not being touched across all servers for a minimum of 74 minutes to fully restock, not to mention time needed to lower its price. However, all other commodities except waste have prices far above their base pricing. I checked with SC Trade Tools once again, and found that Agricium at Kudre Ore is set to spawn at full stock on a fresh server. Beryl, Gold, Quartz, and Tungsten are set for low spawn quantities, which would cause their prices to spike and quantities to repeatedly deplete upon each server restart. So I ask, which is more likely? That there are enough traders on PTU grabbing everything except the most profitable and rare commodity at a particular outpost, or that commodities are being deleted and wiped out with zero player input, causing the current economy issues that we have experienced for over 6 months now? At the moment, both supply and demand is minimum at just about every location and traders in all sizes of ships are hard pressed to buy or sell anything. I'm not asking for an overhaul or early quantum or a new trade system, I'm just asking that it be looked in to and at least considered improving the amount servers spawn in with to potentially correct the problem.
