I would just like to remind the vision and words of Chris Roberts, in his 2022 letter of the chairman, and the reason most of us are backing the Project! "Star Citizen is a universe sim." the definition of a Sim (aka Simulator) is: A machine designed to provide a realistic imitation of the controls and operation of a vehicle, aircraft, or other complex system, used for training purposes The game being built today is a game that encompasses many; It is a dogfighting spacesim, it is a first person shooter, it is a trading game, a resource collecting game, a resource management game, an adventure game, a survival game and a social game. It is a game for everyone, as in real life there are many different paths to walk, and success is defined by what makes you happy. Do you want to prove your abilities as a fearsome combat pilot? The game has that for you, but equally if you just want to quietly mine minerals and make your fortune, or hang out in Landing Zones, or find a corner of the galaxy that no one else has found... all of these are options in the Sandbox that Star Citizen is. As said by CR and just like in real life, players who don't like FPS, can and will be able to do anything else in this universe as mentioned above. Just like as if players want to hop in and shoot without any tactical planning and consequences, they can fire up a game like Counter Strike or COD, Apex Legends, Starfield or any BR that is out there and go at it for a couple hours. Or even use some version of the Arena Commander :slightly_smiling_face:. I would like to just remind this, as we are still fairly at the beginning of an important and defining Balancing phase for SQ42 but also the PU. And I am starting to notice the opposite approach, where I have the feeling initial testing prioritizes "Fun" over "Realism". Also fun is subjective, realism not so much. Therefore working down from realism to fun is, for this vision, personally, is the way to go. Thank you again for all you have already done! And have a great Christmas! Rest up well with family and friends, as I am sure, Next year will be one for the books!! -------- EDIT: for some of you that don't understand, Realism and Fun can mix, i'm not advocating for less fun here. Just use Realism as a base, and make it fun. Imagination of this futuristic world, CAN happen within the realm of realism, by giving logic explanations on how things come to be, and using realistic ways to do certain stuff we already know how to do in real life, and then expand upon that in a logic way.
