Greetings, Testers! In this post, I'm going to walk you through the basics of logging GPU Crash data so that we can collect as much information on these crashes as possible. If you're on an NVIDIA card, we've integrated a library called Aftermath to track what the GPU is doing at the time of a crash. A gpu_error.log that contains additional information will be uploaded to CIG by the crash handler. Requirements: Be on the latest 3.0 build. Have an NVIDIA GPU running the latest drivers. Encounter frequent crashes to desktop. How to see if your latest crash was a GPU Crash: Open a Windows Explorer (WIN+E) and enter : %localappdata%\Star Citizen Open the game.log file in a notepad. Ctrl + F and search for: Is GPU crash: If Yes then follow the steps below! What to do: Close Star Citizen and the RSI PTU Launcher entirely. If you already have a user.cfg file, add the following line and save the file: r_gpuMarkers = 3 If you do not already have a user.cfg file, create a new text file in your \Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\LIVE directory. Add the following line to the file: r_gpuMarkers = 3 Save the File as user.cfg ! Run the RSI PTU Launcher and Verify Files. Play as normal. If you happen to encounter a GPU Crash after following these steps, we will start receiving your crash data once you upload your report via the Public Crash Handler. Once you've sent your data via the Public Crash Handler, please leave a note here with any info you can provide about what you were doing at the time the client crashed! Thanks!
