This is a rant. Ground lev bikes should not fly in atmorsphere. I understand that ultimately it is CR's vision, however, the community also drives alot of content. 3.1.4b was all about testing the ground lev "bikes".... surprisingly the HOV mode has been working pretty ok for the most part. I don't think that hover bikes should be able to fly in atmosphere. I am fine with them flying in space... just NOT on a moon/planet with gravity. Hover bikes should be stuck in hover mode in atmosphere.. for alot of reasons. One reason being it breaks alot of gameplay potential.. While I was out testing the "bike" I saw another player out testing his DF in HOV mode. He started to shoot at me (no problem, part of testing) as soon as I started to get the upper hand on him, he took off into the sky. It then basically turned into a dogfight. I don't think hover bikes should be little space ships. It takes the flavor and fun away. Another reason being that NOONE will actually use hover mode as it does take longer to traverse terrain. I understand it us much more convenient to just "fly" really quickly... but isn't that why we have ships already? What is the point of a lev bike if it can fly? Why can't a Cyclone have thrusters and fly? Why can't my EVA thrusters be used like a jet pack and fly me around so I don't have to walk everywhere? I really think this is going to take alot away from gameplay. There are alot of other reasons I could mention but this post is already really long. I did have alot of fun flying in SCM mode over Yela.... It is fun. Not gonna lie. I just don't think its worth losing proper hover bikes skimming over the terrain. Change my mind.
