So hover mode is now a thing no more inertial dampening you slip and slide like a greased pig by simply tipping your nose up or down or engaging in a slight roll. This is not a major problem in and of itself however it becomes a major problem with the current design of top hangars. The big problem is that not everyone is an ACE not everyone has a hotas and mouse movement makes this the most janky and FUCKING DANGEROUS thing I have ever seen in a space sim. A seasoned fighter pilot will adapt and not care and even be a complete ass at times by telling everyone else to git gud. But unlike the ace Billy Joe is a unedumecated truck driver who saved up to buy a Conny and runs cargo why should he be expected to git gud and fly like ACE when a fucking flight computer is a thing that exists? So a few things need to happen to fix this. Optimally the main thing is to expand the zone for auto land a couple hundred meters above the hangar door some people just dont have the dexterity to control a ship in hover mode let alone thread the needle of a landing pad with a fucking obnoxious autopilot override exclusion zone bouncing them around they should be able to fly roughly over the hangar door and allow the computer to guide them into the hangar. To be honest automated landing should really work the way it does in Elite Dangerous where you can trigger it once you get within range of the control tower and it will guide the ship in for a safe landing and manage traffic in and around a space port the current auto land system requires you to manually maneuver almost blindly through hangar doors with little to no clearance making the entire system kinda useless Another problem that makes hover mode so hard to control is the horrible point of view from many cockpits that cuts off your ability to see the ground or what is underneath you and there are no useable instruments that will help guide you into a hangar door you CANT SEE. I would like to see a use able HUD in third person view so you can properly land your ship. (this can be justified by having the cameras mounted on small drones that can detach from the hull and fly around the ship your no longer looking through a magical god perspective but rather a actual camera orbiting the ship) Landing Cameras would also be a reasonable solution granting the ability to switch to several exterior views while maintaining a visible huid The visible hud part is the important thing because its how you get the information required to control the ship horizon line speed etc . )
