We knew how useless the Antares is, but we thought: Hey, let's give the ship a chance. But wow, what we got was even worse than expected. Let's summarize it briefly. The Antares is a two-seater, just like the Scorpius. Only the Antares doesn't have a turret. To "compensate" for this, the co-pilot operates a dampener and an EMP. At least in theory, but more on that later. Let's start with what should actually work but still sucks: unlike EMPs used by the pilot, the Antares co-pilot has no indication of the EMP's charge status, overheating or cooldown. So he has to estimate when the EMP is charged and when it is overheating. But that's already the next point. Only about 5 seconds after the EMP is approximately fully charged, the EMP overheats and switches off again. So either you are just at 1100 meters range or you are not when the EMP is charged. Which brings us to the next point: the co-pilot has neither radar nor can he aim at targets. So he has no idea when and whether a target is within range. Activation is time-critical, as the EMP does not trigger immediately and only has a short range. Instead of relieving the pilot, he has to talk all over him, tell him when the EMP might be charged and ask when the ship is in range. To make matters worse, the EMP also causes a graphic bug that blocks the pilot's view. Let's move on to the Dampener. It's nice that the ship has one. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. There is no button in the ship to activate it. There is no assignable hotkey and the weapon group for the mouse doesn't work either. The ship may theoretically have a dampener, but in practice it doesn't have a usable one. Apart from the fact that the co-pilot dies of boredom in the Antares anyway, he can operate an EMP about every 40 seconds, worse than the pilot of another ship could, the main task consists of guessing and estimating. That's it. If the pilot gets the bad idea to pull the eject lever, the ship explodes immediately and kills the co-pilot. The Antares has officially earned a place on the podium at the award ceremony. In the competition for the most useless ship in the fleet. The Antares is one of the newer ships, released not so long ago. I don't know if there has ever been a ship release in the last 2 years that had such a stupid concept and was also so bugged and poorly implemented with the release. __________ @YogiKlatt-CIG The better concept would have been to take the weapons away from the pilot and give him control of the EMP and dampener. This would have solved most of the problems of these devices and especially the missing UI problem. If the co-pilot had kept his turret, he wouldn't die of boredom and the ship would actually work. I don't really understand why they didn't do it this way.
