I find that the game really lacks consistency when it comes to immersion. The gameplay being offered is advertised as immersive, and in that sense, we’re required to drink, eat, heal ourselves, prepare, manually load/unload every crate, every object, every vehicle. Fine. Everything that could be considered long and tedious is pushed to an extreme level of realism. No problem with that. But when it comes to action... We infiltrate bases, outposts, Onyx bases that are supposed to be "secret" (so with limited personnel). Yet NPCs respawn endlessly every 5 minutes with no logic at all, and that totally breaks my immersion. A realistic immersion means: if you clear an area, it stays empty. Or sure, reinforcements can arrive, but not infinitely—and they should be on alert, not just casually standing around. When I clear a zone, make a loop, and come back to find the same NPCs calmly waiting in the exact same spots, my immersion is ruined. It feels like I’m playing a low-budget game. Metal Gear Solid 2 was already doing it better back in 2001.
