It's been 5 months. At this point, even the fanatic reddit community generally agrees that Master Modes makes the game worse. I stopped playing once they made the game unplayable, but I keep checking in every month or two. As far as I can tell, CIG refuses to address the fact that MM is a wholesale, irredeemable mistake. We funded this game, and CIG has lost the plot until they agree on the objective fact that MM is bad, full stop. Moreover, after 5 months, CIG has still failed to articulate a single genuine problem that Master Modes has truly "fixed." Just... remove it. They are stuck in the ultimate sunk-cost fallacy, I don't care how much of our money you wasted on this feature. If it's bad, remove it. I don't care about SQ42 either since there's no reason to believe CIG will ever actually release a full video game. Just bring back a fun flight model to the PU so that the people who paid for this game can play what they paid for. The game was fun 5 months ago. It will not be fun again until Master Modes is removed. Even people who still play the game agree that MM made the game worse. The only exceptions are the Yes-men and content creators on the inside who will say anything, do anything, and spend any amount of money just to get early access and insider knowledge. These people will always insist CIG can do no wrong. CIG, don't listen to these people. And don't listen to yourselves. MM has proved that the community is far more capable of making good design choice than you are. Listen to the intelligent people giving good, free advice on how not to ruin our trillion dollar community-funded trust experiment.
