My biggest fears have been confirmed - The game is now not fun anymore, I would even call it a chore to just fly around. I can't understand how some people are actually enjoying MM. But those are probably the same people who were previously complaining about "jousting" in combat - which was true, but what did you expect space combat would look like? or any flight based combat. It's like going into firefight complaining " i thought this would be at close range ONLY and not at distance, i can't even see my enemy" - i always found it ridiculous really (even if not big fan of jousting in combat myself) - because close combat can still of course happen, just not that often due to probability. I guess that's why I never did PVP combat anyway, I wasn't good enough to have fun in it and in PVE jousting didn't exist (AI would not run away even if its about to die, and I had no problems with humans having the options to run away to preserve themselves even if those who wanted to kill them would be of course disappointed in not being able to kill what was usually a not to be fair fight in the first place and to not run away from hopeless situation would be stupid. To me, MM is like going from new Ferrari into 1990s skoda fabia - how I'm supposed to enjoy it? its overly complicated for simple tasks and combat is like cartoon with a lots of sparks but no weight behind it at snails speed (in a space ship able to do interstellar travel, right...) I thought it was supposed to make flying ships MORE enjoyable, not harder and downright joyless. Couldn't care less about the combat part, so be it, destroy it, i could swallow that one up, but not when it comes to not being able to enjoy the flying itself anymore = the largest part of the game. Ships feel and fly completely different! (I realize that was the point.) So far, the SC's player base always increased every year and i predict because of MM alone (everything else would be a good change) within six months CIG will actually have less active players for the first time ever (and also money) than the year before. I think there will be a lot of "oldies" like me leaving and not enough of "newbies" to replace us to even brake even. I will correct myself, honestly, not even 6 months because i think will be proven that MORE, not less people enjoyed it the way before MM. As far as I'm concerned, I have no choice but to retire from SC completely due to not having any joy in flying at all anymore (again, not even talking about combat) Breaks my hearth, it was great whilst it lasted. Still the best game ever made - before it was ruined. At least I have memories (and some YT videos) to fall back onto. I kinda wish there was a way to roll back the 3.23 update and play the old SC version (even offline solo) as it was (i know it would never get updated - so what, it was good enough for me, now it's totally joyless). I honestly could just fly to different planets sit down and stare at the skies and the surroundings chilling. Cruise in my beloved Origins' ships at modest altitude above the planets staring at the beauty below, and the shining stars around me. I would never get bored staring at Crusader from Daymar surface. It was always breath taking. I always made excuses just to have reason to go down to the surface to see it :D; Like mining in there exclusively with the ROC even though it made no sense financially. But on having fun or enjoyment, you can't put a price - it made sense to me. Exactly what is my problem with MM, i don't have any enjoyment flying the ships anymore. So what the point trying to do anything, to get the ships I want, to not enjoy flying it anyway? Such a shame... I will of course follow whats up with SC during my retirement from it, hoping that since nothing is truly ever permanent (such is way of life), maybe it will get back to what it used to feel like flying before once more in the future (even if years later, time always flies looking back). But as for now, Good bye citizens! It was nice knowing you even if not all our interactions were friendly, It made it an experience worth having anyway. Hope to see you again in the Verse once more in the future.
