I can put my own landing gear down. It is a single key press - no big deal. But it is extremely frustrating for the landing gear to come down and force slow me down when I have no intention of landing. That frustration far overwhelms the minor 'convenience' of the landing gear coming down automatically when I am landing. Deploying landing gear is just part of the landing checklist that every pilot should know. If you do land with the gear up, which will inevitably happen to everyone at least once, let the minor hull damage be a lesson to you in why all pilots use checklists! But that is nothing compared to how annoying it is to have the repair menu open automatically when in proximity to Cry-Astro. Again, opening that menu is a VERY easy to do. When I'm ready to repair, I hit F1, then click on the repair menu. But, having the mobiglass pop up automatically and lock me out of ship controls is unacceptable. Right now a visit to Cry-Astro results in me having a brand new ship rather than a repaired ship. It goes something like this: 1. Approach the station in need of repair 2. Mobiglass pops up, locking me out of ship controls 3. I collide with the station, blowing my ship up 4. Wake up a Olisar, claim ship insurance. 5. Voila! A brand new ship. There should never be a situation in-game where the mobi-glass pops up automatically. That is extremely silly. Just never do it ok?
